Cycle Speedway Federation privacy notice

Introduction

This privacy policy covers information collected by the Cycle Speedway Federation (CSF) when:

when you access our web site

  • we collect your IP address only, from our web server logs
  • we use the data to monitor our web usage, and understand where our audience is in the world

when you join a CSF-federated club

  • we collect your name, date of birth, contact details, and emergency contact details, and any club roles and qualifications held, from membership details submitted to us by yourself or your club
  • depending on your role we may require a Disclosure and Barring Service check, in which case we will share your contact details with the Disclosure and Barring Service and collect a record of your report from you
  • we use this data to register you as a rider or volunteer for CSF activities, ensure our officials and volunteers hold appropriate qualifications and security checks, and to communicate with you and your club.

when you participate in an event, as rider or volunteer

  • we collect your name, date of birth, contact details, and emergency contact details, club membership, entry criteria, any fees paid
  • in the case of competitive events, we collect the results of the event
  • we may collect photos or video of the event and any award presentations
  • we use this data to process your event entry, process any payments required, communicate event details. We may also use this data to publicly publish competition results and promote the sport of Cycle Speedway and cycling in general

Who we share your data with

Unless specified above we do not share your data with third parties.

How long we retain your data

Records of CSF events will be maintained. This would include participant’s name, age category, event classification, details and results of the event.

Personal data linked to the processing of insurance claims, safeguarding investigations, data subject access requests, disciplinary and legal matters, will only be held for as long as is neccessary for the purpose.

What rights you have over your data

You have the rights defined in law, including the Data Protection Act 2018. We may be obliged to keep certain data for administrative, legal purposes.
