Women’s CS has grown considerably over the past ten and more years, with up to half of first time riders being girls at some clubs.
Cycle speedway has two classifications; Open and Female. Everybody rides together until their 9th year, at which point Girls-only competitions become available. Many girls compete in both Girls and Open competitions, and in their club’s teams in the local leagues.

In the British Youth and Junior League, Girls can choose between the 13-18 year Girls category or their Open age category.
Womens league and GP series
CS runs the national Women’s League and Women’s GP Series. The Women’s League is inter-region; north and Scotland vs Midlands vs East vs South and South Wales. As the league grew in rider numbers there were occasional Select teams, merging smaller teams to make one.
Women’s League matches include all the teams, so the community is together for each event. As part of each event there will be individual GP’s for Intermediate and Elite riders.
The regions each provide a Best Pair for the Home Internationals Women’s event.
